THE HISTORICAL COLLECTIONS COUNCIL

Funding

The mission of the HCC is to promote the early California painters and their art.  Education about the art is a primary focus, along with conservation of these valuable paintings, and making it possible for people to view them.  With this in mind, the HCC has taken part in funding a number of projects and the following are a few examples.

  • Funds provided in order to bus schoolchildren to museums for educational tours
  • Contributions made to help fund exhibitions
  • Financial assistance provided for the publication of catalogs
  • Grants made to restore and conserve paintings
  • Funds given to museums for the acquisition of important paintings

HCC Grants vary in size and are given based on whether the request meets with the aims stated in our Mission Statement.

The following institutions are just a few of the groups that have benefited from HCC financial assistance:

The Irvine Museum
The Pasadena Museum of California Art
The Oceanside Museum
The Crocker Museum
The Orange County Museum
The Santa Monica Historical Society
The Laguna Museum
The Bowers Museum
The Ventura Museum
